EKM05 as the cover story in IDEAT Germany

28 - 02 - 2026

Titled “The Happy Place”, the extensive feature, written by Camilla Peus, offers an in-depth narrative of the project, exploring the delicate dialogue between art and architecture that defines the residence.

The article portrays EKM05 as a house-museum: a living space conceived to accommodate and elevate an important private art collection. Designed for Elie Khouri, the home was envisioned as a place where architecture becomes a quiet framework for art, including a sculpture garden intended to host exhibitions and gatherings for art enthusiasts, such as members of the Art Club Dubai.

Art and architecture were never meant to compete. The interiors were conceived to be restrained yet luminous, understated in gesture, yet powerful enough to honor the masterpieces they surround. Flexibility was central to the design, allowing the collection to continuously reshape the spatial experience. As Riccardo Robustini, founder of Breath Design, reflects in the interview:

“We’re not interested in show-off architecture or Dubai-typical glossy prestige interiors. Our goal is to create emotions and feelings of happiness, through good style, but also through lighting, transparency, even scents. What matters is to spark positive energy and well-being.”

EKM05 embodies an architecture of space, calm, and wonder, where the measure of design is not spectacle, but emotion.
